Forget Man Up...Let's Man Down
This is an article I wrote to try and encourage men to speak out about their mental health and the struggles that they go through. Far too often men are expected to bottle up their emotions and this has caused their to be a rise in male suicides as a result.
I included many statistics to try and appeal to a male readership as they don't tend to care about emotive writing as much as women.
5 LGBT+ Film Reviews
For this feature I watched 5 different LGBT+ films on Netflix that I had never heard of before and then reviewed them.
I found this really interesting to do as I learnt a lot about how the LGBT+ community are represented within both society and the film industry. By writing this feature I wanted to try and raise awareness of these films and help more people discover the wide selection of films that Netflix has to offer us.
Heaven Is A Place On Earth
To include the LGBT+ community in our magazine in a more fun and exciting way, 2 of us from the group went the gay club Heaven to write about our first ever experience in gay club.
The night we went was 'Porn Idol' night and it was an extremely eye-opening experience. In my document attached you can also read Veronica's piece which explains the night in a little more detail than I do.
